Beltring sc50 restoration

Well-Known Member
Today saw i a good start in stripping the tailfins from the main body
of the bomb.
Lots of heat and all the screws came out intact.
then removal of the nose section that had been previously cut of
and re aligned and Ark welded back on.

next came removal of the filler plug which with a lot of heat unscrewed
lovely.

This casing is the size of an SD50 in lengh but is only 9mm wall thickness
and looks more like an SC,so what version is this as it is 23inches long
without the tailfins.

Work in progress

Very nice Satan yet another quality restoration in the making, as Dano says please keep us updated with the work in progress.

Why was the nose sawn off in the first place ?

And what is it that keeps the filler plate in place at the rear ?

Well done and thanks for sharing with us.

I can only think it must have been cut by EOD at some point as the tails and filler plug had not been disturbed.

All the bomb has lost in lengh is 3mm which makes it a very short SC bomb
and the Filler plug unscrewed from the rear with a bit of heat.

Gladly keep you all posted on the next stage

Thanks for the valuable info there MB
I will look into those variants and hopefully get the correct one.

At some point is it possible to see the correct stripes that are painted on to the cone as although this one has traces of paint left i would prefere
to do a complete re paint with the correct markings.

Here the Drawings of al 3 mate.
