Picked this case up at Newark today ,nice headstamp ,shame someone turned it into a ashtray but really glad he also put his cap badge and 50th Royal Tank Regiment titles on it.
Now after a bit of digging i couldnt find a lot on the 50th ,but when i tried the 23rd Armoured Brigade ,bingo ,the 50th were training in the U.K until mid-1942 shipped to N.Africa took part at the Battle of EL Alamein [Using Matidas and Valentine tanks ] converted to Shermans in May 1943 .Took part in the invasion of Sicily and the Italian campaign .
