British Fuze No 28 Mk-III and Fuze No 75

Hello Shubhajit

The No 28 Pistol was used in all 250, 500, 1000 and 1900 lb GP bombs and 250, 500 and 1000 lb MC bombs in Worlds War 2. The No 75 Pistol was used in 500 and 1000 lb MC bombs in the 1950-70s. Neither of them are 'Fuzes' because they do not contain any explosive components.

Hello, I collect grenades, mines and shells. However in am not familiar with components of air drop bombs, can any one recommend any good introduction material covering this area suitible for a newbie?

Unidentified bomb!!

Hello David got some pics of a WW II bomb whose body length is 75 cm and dia 20 cm. Probably tail unit has sheared off and no 28 pistol clearly seen.Caliber may be 100 lbs or 250 lbs????100_1962.jpgDSC00288.jpgDSC00292.jpg what type fuze may be this one is having and it must be safe open up the pistol isn't? This bomb must be atleast a good 60 yrs old.
