The other day I mentioned some US grenades taken in British service and a member asked if the US used any British grenades. According to various papers in the Public Records Office, and a few US volumes it is fairly clear that the AEF used the No 27 Smoke Rifle grenade. The AEF also placed demands on the UK for Mills grenades (No23 Mk II and No 36), about 100,000 Grenades Hand No 28 Mark II filled KJ, and 500 No 39 Rifle Grenades although whether these last two types were actually used I cannot presently say.
