Finally got a projectile for it, considering how common MK-108 rounds are it was hard finding a decent one (the Mauser 213 and Mk 108 use the same projectiles).
Shown next to an alloy cased Aden for comparison. The Aden is unusual in that its the LV version with an HE projectile. Close up of 933 MK 1 fuze shown also.
All INERT.
Dave.

Dave, the hs looks like engraved or lasered rather than stencilled, the acceptance eagle looks odd too and the inspector's number there does not fit the properly known one which is "67" and not "138". The case coating seems to be copper what was basically used only up to 1941 despite this one here looks like applied in an acid bath which held brass cases before (who ever tried to clean steel parts in such a bath knows about copper plating). The unplated areas on the hs are a definitive giveway. The so far known MK213/30 cases (cartridges) have laquered cases. A known hs is: aux "eagle 67" 45 2 and it looks very different the way it is applied. Also the original case has a small shoulder and neck, something I can not find here. Also the crimp on original ones is applied by segmented tools and not by a single smooth cannelure.
On the other hand a shortened DEFA steel case with a turned case head would look exactly like this one here in question.
The flash channels on the MK213 should be 2 while the DEFA has only a central one. You may take a French DEFA case and compare the exact measurements and compare it to your case. Also pay particular attention to the primer and compare it with DEFA and German ones from MK108 or MG151/20el.
Honestly, I hope you did not pay for that one.
