It's all well and good the Germans dropping the Dam Bombs but but when it comes to digging them up than that's another story. The attachment is a "Caldweld" boring rig it could bore a hole 44 feet deep 9 feet diameter and was lined with sections on fibre glass panels that after about 15 feet would go "Egg Shaped" & that's when it became dodgy, later a set of insets called strong rings was introduced this was a much safer idea and then some time in late 70's the "Dutch Metal ring" liner was developed.
This site was Great Staughton in August 1966 and a 250kg phosperous bomb was removed.
