I had a 57mm HE round and casing up on auction on e-bay
and it got squashed.
Heres what i had it listed as:
You recently listed the following listing:

221144737913 - INERT 57MM HE T18E1 ROUND AND CASING P7290134.jpg

Unfortunately, we had to remove your listing because of the following:

We have removed your item because we do not allow any type of ammunition on the site. This includes inert, live, or dummy ammunition. Please do not relist this item. We understand that there may be some frustration regarding the removal of an active listing but please be aware that we’re attempting to maintain a safe trading environment and have your best interests at heart. All fees associated with this listing have been credited back to your account and this credit should be reflected immediately.

Because of various laws and regulations on the sale of weapons, most types of weapons can't be listed on eBay.

We don't allow listings for live ammunition or any component that can be used to create a round of ammunition, including:
- Blank ammunition
- Brass casings
- Gunpowder
- Hulls
- Inert ammunition
- Lead bullets
- Primers
- Shells

So I had a friend list it as Tramp Art
And guess what You guessed it! see link

I guess the best way to sell stuff like this is stick a light bulb in it

Bright idea:hmmmm:

" ... and have your best interests at heart" - I really hate these rotten hypocrites. :tinysmile_angry2_t:

I have seen the Russian guys sell all types S-mines, fuzes etc, look under Zunder and you will see what i mean.

I'm quite familar with these idiots
I once reported every item in militaria that was listed as INERT
not one was cut
The cast practice grenades are prohibited by their own rules but here's a crap load of them
They aren't even leagle in e-bays own state
I just bought 2 37mm rounds and 81mm mortar and a couple of fuzes go figure

Aw , come on guys . EBay is a charitable site employing thousands of otherwise out of work California based attorneys & we all know how the US needs more lawyers...................

Why not list on BOCN?
It seems to work for me.
Dave.

Those of you who know what it is know what it's worth It didn't sell on gun broker so I'm at a loss
I never tried to sell anything in the classified section here I think i'm eligable

I once listed a British 3 Pounder shell case as trench art. It got taken down within a few hours, but other auctions for shell cases were running at the same time and these stayed up. There doesn't seem to be any logic to it.

Try . . pen holders . .vase . . Paper weight . . Doorstop:)

That's true, they are stupid as well.

Last year on ebay.de a French offered a "wear rack of German flamethrower 41" for about 2.5 k euros.
At first glance a ridicilous price for the single rack, but on the closeups the thrower was still attached!
It wasn't sold, but remained unharmed the entire duration of the auction in place.

Hi Ordman,
Feel free to stick it up in the Classifieds, you are indeed eligable.
Best Weasel.

I think everyone misses the point with eBay listings . They hardly ever take down a listing that hasn't been put up by someone who's on their naughty list. They use a complicated algorithm that sorts out the bad guys & then they manually check them . They hate doing this as it costs them money . Some sellers use multiple ID's & once one gets sussed , just change to another . If you ain't on the list , you can get away with almost anything . Sadly , I'm at the top of the naughty step having been suspended more than 10 times in 13 years , but never let the buggers grind you down !

I have a contrary opinion which may not be agreeable to everyone.

As far as I know, ebay is a private business and they make the rules. And that's a good thing. If you don't agree with their rules, or policies, or politics, you don't use their services or buy their products. I happen to be one who does not like their politics so I don't use them or paypal. But, that's my choice. Be thankful that you still have a choice.

JMHO

Ray

I must be second then.

Ray . I respect your view totally it's just that they are very inconsistent & you can NEVER get a straight answer from them . I wasn't aware they did politics ? Mike

At least Specialist were open minded enough to welcome you when you were forced to move away from Ebay Mike, many of us collectors appreciate you continuing to list all that mouth watering stuff that you find and we collect:tinysmile_fatgrin_t

Dave.

Dave . Thanks for that . I still list on eBay as well but not anything they would find contentious . I did recently list one of those WW1 Mills grenades that had been converted to an inkwell . They removed it in minutes but there have been many other similar ones that stayed the course including fake ones from India ! The sites never been the same since Meg Whitman left as CEO . She never put up with this sort of liberal crap . Mike.

I have even had a "Mary Tin " removed becauase it contained a bullet pencil!!!! So I think Mike is right that they pick on people that have items removed previously.
Richard

The item that I had removed was the first item of that type I had ever tried to sell on there.

I had bought a few shells / cases etc. from them before though.
