Epay ban on ordnance??

Well-Known Member
Hi all,
the word round the campfire is that Epay is banning inert ordnance etc.
When does this start?
i still have a few bits and bobs to flog,so is that me knackered then?
makes you wonder what is going to happen to ol` Siegfried and the boys as they sell a lot of gear on that site.
I know my mate Mick the ammo man has never been a fan of Epay,he is an old skool staller at fairs!
my main concern is that dealers are going to push up the prices at shows rather than drop `em to suit the people returning back to the tables?
Mick reckons no price push ups but i`m skeptical about that answer.
what say you chaps?:eek:hmy:

ill change \"Inert\" to novelty paperweight or doorstop there will be ways around it,or ill use speedbid they always have some militaria on deacts etc

I have to admit,i was thinking of Speedbid.
I`m sure that Epay is banning items of our hobby mate,no matter how you describe them!
i got a long winded email from them and i cant make head or tail of it!

cheers spotter for the quick reply pal.

Hi Chaps,

Yes I saw this too...here's eBay's announcement.

http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200707301000452.html

Here's a petition to sign against it....which I'm sure is as much use as pissing in the wind.

http://www.petitiononline.com/ebay0001/petition.html

The petition suggests you need to be an American national, to have a vote. But it might be worth a try.

Personally, I've not heard of egun, but I will look, but in the mean time, ill grab a list of all the people I've bought items from, and periodically email them with requests.....quite how I sell stuff, I don't know.

It's very disappointing that the \"american illness\" effects our hobby.

regards
Richard

Hi Richard,
i have seen the email but it was just too much for me too take in!,its loaded with all sorts of BS.
i hope that seller knows what he is getting into with that petition he has wrote.(look up ww2 german inert on epay and enjoy!)

cheers

Was going through all the e-bay forums yesterday and it looks like people in the states are moving to auctionarms.com or gunbroker.com. there is no mention of the uk but i can recommend www.specialistauctions.com and there is no listing fee:)

GRRRRRRRRR just listed load of stuff on ebay and theyve already started removing my items because they are prohibited, wouldnt mind but they removed an item that never even contained any charge ever, sent them a shitty email and awaiting response ,ill keep you updated

well just got a response, well sort of ..here it is
Thank you for taking the time to contact eBay customer support. My name is William and I would be happy to assist you. Generally, ordnance (military weaponry, ammunition and related parts) isnot permitted, even if the user states that the item is \"unserviceable\" or has been \"de-militarised\" or \"demilled,\" as eBay cannot confirm that the item has effectively and permanently altered for lawful and safe transport and sale. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Kind regards, William MiloeBay Trust & Safety

so basically they say they cant prove its safe ive just explained to the wan@@@s that it never contained any explosive or other combustables...my bet this is an automated bull response..providing rest of my stuff doesnt get taken off this week ,once it sells its goodbye Ecrap from asrbsales

What gets me is they soon take of our stuff off and yet a guy on ebay is selling a label from a tin of CYCONE B and we all know what that was used for.
Andy

Looks like im knacked then!,i have some bits to sell on.

I've recently seen a footnote in an item description on eBay from one of the guys I have regularly buy items from ...

\"\"If there is a problem with the listing of this item, go to www.milweb.co.uk, select militaria & weapons from the left hand menu then weapon spares & accessories from the top menu for details of what I have for sale and how I intend to continue selling inert, safe and legal items, It will take a couple of weeks for the advert to appear.\"\"

I fully intent to compile a list from all my \"major Suppliers\" of where they intend to sell their future items...

ie Seigfried SELLS ON ????
rrickoshea SELLS ON www.milweb.co.uk

I'm sure we can find a place to put this list and where other BOCN members can add to it other suppliers of items that I don't personally look for (yet !!)

Obviously the list would include a description of the items typically sold by that supplier.

I would have thought that the supplier would want their name &/or email shown, rather than their eBay ID. (aka Seigfried, rrickoshae etc) ...but I'm not sure that is our decision to make....so I suggest we ask first.

Rich

For now add any dealers you recomend and links to where their stock can be found into the \"Dealer Reviews \" section ,i will get bolo to look into setting up an area specifically for where to buy legal inert ordnance

i wonder if these new sites are going to work like Epay or is there is a set price for each item?

Just to let you know i contacted all the major ordnance sellers on e-bay early last week informing them of this site and asking where they intend going. From what i've heard back it's a mix of;

AuctionArms.com
GunBroker.com
SpecialistAuctions.com
Milweb.co.uk

ebang.com has also been mentioned, but not alot.
