From wich weapon is this clinometer?

This is something I bought a couple of years ago for to much money...
The person I bought it from told me it's for the the vickers machine gun.

I found some picters on google displaying the use of such-like items, but never this one.

Can someone tell me from what/when/where its from?

The pictures:

It is a clinometer for setting elevation as you say, but it is not for the Vickers.

I don't know which weapon it is for though.

It looks like the clinometer for a Director, No 5 (in which case it might be called Clinometer, Field Mark IV but I would expect there to be markings to that effect).

Maybe for boresighting aircraft guns,to calibrate impact convergance point at various ranges,?,

Execpt for what you see on the pictures, I did not find any other markings...

And I was wondering if the big arrow on the side is the UK broadarrow, or just to tell
in which direction it should be mounted.

And if its not from the UK, could it be French? Or even from my country, Belgian?
