Fuze, MIN CAL M.I. (MKII 37MM Fuze)

Been out a while due to a slight bout of Throat Cancer (courtesy of Camp Lejuene Water IMHO). Healing well and finally attending shows. A recent acquisition was this, a fuze for the U.S. 37mm MKII HE. I've searched Gordon's stickies and did a forum search also and i cant seem to find it. I was wondering if there are any cut aways or publications on this Fuze. TIA. Cheers, Bruce.

I'm lost with your fuze. The body is similar to MkII (US, base percussion fuze minor caliber Mark II) with MkI marking (?)

MINENAZ, that's what is stamped. Maybe a transitional or a mistake on stamping?

MKll as MKl

Here are some old files, maybe helpful - Maybe so marked as considered MKl in usage ? But seems standard at any rate.

Gordon, thanks for that. I'd never seen the type before. I'll have to look through my projo's and see if I have any contract 1089's. So I STILL have to find a MKIV for my MKII projo.

Because the fuzes for the MKll's have a detonator , they are quite difficult to find compared to the others. Or so it seemed years back.

Here are my Mk lV fuzea. One is an empty body.
the other has the detonator bit removed. The top
piece with the detonator is a press fit/crimped into the top
of the body like the regular non detonator kind.
The M38 replaced these in the mid 1930s.

Sorry so late to reply Bruce. I ran across this and I knew right away what you were talking about: the TSP (Toledo Screw Products, I believe) fuze. We saw a fair number of these (maybe a couple dozen) at the Camp Williams, Utah project. Yes, those dimensions don't square up with a typical Mk 1
Min Cal BPF fuze. Everyone of the TSP fuzes was marked the same as the one pictured below.

That should be a good pictorial of the fuze as well as the firing pin and what I presume is the setback sleeve. I also included a picture of the TSP Mark I BPF vs. the typical Mark I BPF.

Here are more pictures of the firing pin and what I presume is a setback sleeve. Sorry the pictures aren't better. I took these many years ago and am currently far from home and am unable to get better pictures.
