Fuze Ring HELP

Got this Fuze ring of my mate lex this week,Thanks Lex
But anyway can someone telll me which way it goes on the fuze please,and would these originally have been painted if so what colour..thanks for looking allan

The pin on the ring fits in a hole in the bomb. So first the fuze goes in the bomb, then the ring with the pin facing down then the whole is secured by a locking ring. Actuly this is a positioning ring so the fuze fits in the bomb only in one way.

I have a couple of relic versions of this ring and wondered how i could restore it?
That one of yours looks in pretty good shape Spott.

Locing and locating rings were never painted , some may have traces of preservative on
 
BMG the one i have appears to be aluminium,it is definately non magnetic and has that powdery aluminium corrosion in some places
