Now known as the Long Shop museum this is dedicated to the firm of Richard Garrett Ltd. They made everything from cast iron railings to traction & steam engines including the enormous articulated Bayer-Garrett steam engines made for South America etc. They made guns & munitions during both World Wars and have some examples on display. Well worth a visit. Dave

I went there this time last year Dave, an interesting place eh ? a couple of good aircraft museums in Suffolk too. Stayed in a little village called Sibton. Tony.

hi Tony, yes the Flixton museum seems to go on for ever, a huge amount of stuff - not just aviation related. I stayed in a windpump near Reedham! Dave100_0154.jpg

Yes the Flixton museum is very good too. Looks like a quirky place to stay Dave. I found plenty to look at in Suffolk.

yes, a bit like a hobbit house! its half a mile from the nearest house but only 300yds from a pub!
