Received this by email from Ron Fuchs in the USA.

I am sad to pass on information on one of the icons of cartridge collecting, Gene Scranton. I had a call from Norm Hower at Woodin Lab in Tucson, letting me know that Gene is undergoing surgery for a tumor in his colon.

We are all familiar with the volumes of "History of Modern U.S. Military Small Arms Ammunition" by Franck Hackley, Bill Woodin, and Gene Scranton.

Gene is currently 86 years old, and we would think he would be very appreciative to receive a card or a note to speed his recovery. You can send your greeting to:

Eugene L. Scranton (Patient)
Tucson Medical Center
5301 E. Grant Road
Tucson, AZ 85712

Thank You, and please keep Gene in your prayers.

Regards,
Ron
