Hi Guys,
I have recently purchased an inert F1 hand grenade. I am used to dealing with things such as deactivated firearms etc however this is my first piece of ordnance to add to my collection. Painted on the bottom is "irv 27/73 T 4/50". My research has led me to believe this is a czech made F1 as it states IRV.
However one thing is troubling me, there are casting marks on the inside and outside of the grenade, its looks almost as though 2 halves have been stuck together. I have attached a couple of pictures to try and show what I mean. It is hard to see on the inside picture however the recess at the bottom follows all the way up both sides lining up with the casting marks on the outside.
I have tried to research how these grenades were made however I haven't come up with much.
Looking at the pictures attached would you more experienced guys say that this is genuine or is it a copy? It has a decent bit of weight to it.
Many Thanks.
Lee
