German 3.7cm Pak (t)

Just new in.
Two very good condition German stamped cases for the Czech 3.7cm Pak. The German case headstamp has the M34 whereas the Czech was stamped vz34.

There is a very interesting stencil mark on the side of the cleaner case. Near the bottom it is marked "Skoda" which I have never seen on these cases before. It looks like it was fitted with a Pzgr 37 (t) projectile.

What was the difference between a Pzgr 34 (t) and a 37 (t) projectile?

Many thanks
PC

Nice cases PC.
After a quick look at H.Dv.481/127 Pzgr 34 ( t ) and Pzgr 37 ( t ) both have typical Czech driwing bands with several grooves, BUT Pzgr 34 (t ) umg has a typical German broad plain band without grooves. Geschossrignbuch from 1943 lists only the last version. I assume this is what Germans made and the other types were original ones used as long as they were.

Sorry, took it too fast. The manual shows 3 dirrerent cartridges; 3,7 cm Pzgr. Patr. 34 (t), 3,7 cm Pzgr. Patr. 34 (t) umg and 3,7 cm Pzgr. Patr. 37 (t) BUT only 2 projectiles; Pzgr 34 (t) and Pzgr 34 (t) umg - so, no 3,7 cm Pzgr 37 (t) in this manual.
Projectile datas are the same for all 3 cartridges but powder weight of the last one is 20% higher ( 151 grams and 180 grams )

Thank you for the reply Reino.

The Pzgr. Patr. 37 (t) is in the Dienstvorschrift 435/1. The only difference shown there between the 37 (t) and the 34 (t) is the 37 (t) has a red tip.

What does the red tip mean?
Is it just a big charge in the case and nothing else?

Thats somewhat puzzling. The 435/ 3 manual about color codes and markings explaines the red tip and red cap. There is a AP 34 (t) with black cap id as - made befor sep 1939. The entire projo is painted black at 34(t) AP made after sep 1939.
The 37 (t) made befor sep 1939 has a red cap and the one made after sep 1939 has a red TIP.
The red marking was used to mark the 37 (t) cartridge.

Thank you for pointing me towards the right manual
The 34(t) and the 37(t) was the same projectile but fitted to a different charged case.

Then there was a 37 (t) with a white ring for tracer.
