German 500 kg Fins

Along with the 250 came this set of tails that were reported to have been dropped on a gravel pit in Essex.

The report read removed from a live bomb found in Essex.

Hear is the twist which needs an ID on it.

The tail cone is still rivitted to the back of the bomb body, and there is no filler plug at the back.

All it is is a perfect dome end, so could this be a Flam bomb or some variant to the SC 500,as the cone will fit my SC.

Phil,Have a look for waff-stamps either on the top right corner of the fins are along that band around where the cone attached to the case.
There is a referance to a C-500 kg Flammbomb in the manual but has 'ridges' or 'creases' like the smaller fins. Yours look smooth.

As a babys arm mate, but normally when there like that as with the 50s that normally denotes early manufacture.

Still that missing filler plug that interests me

The only bomb i can think of at the moment by the looks of the tail is the SC 500 Kg type III.

Nice one Jack. :)
What do you think that 'dome' is inside the tail section? Is it part of the case still attached or just tail construction?

Yes this type has no filler cap on it.
the dome is the end cap on the bomb.

I'am here :tinysmile_tongue_t:

At the moment i have no drawing of it but what i know it whas filled with Trialen pellets wrapped in paper.
