There is going to be a giant display of inert ordnance in Tulsa Oklahoma in the United States around May 24th. It will be held in a shopping mall and has apparently become an annual event.
Does anyone know the exact dates, times, and location of this event? If so, please post it here as several nearby collectors would like to attend. THANKS! Pat

Nothing I've heard of, but it makes a good rumor.

There is going to be a giant display of inert ordnance in Tulsa Oklahoma in the United States from May 26th through May 30th. It will be held in the PROMENADE MALL 4107 S Yale Tulsa OK 74137.
I have spoken to the collector who lives in Tulsa and he and a friend have been putting this display on for several years now. Apparently it has become quite a local event.
The mall hours are 10am - 9pm every day except Sunday which is 12 - 6pm.

Inert Ordnance in a shopping mall and no one is running around screaming........imagine that.

I will be traveling to see the display on either Friday the 27th or Saturday the 28th. Anyone in this area is welcome to meet in Wichita and ride along. Just let me know which date works best for you. Pat

The inert ordnance display was better than I could have imagined and included some really scarce pieces. I traveled with two friends (John Cook and Vinnyw).
The display is put on by two collectors who live in the Tulsa area and takes 3 days to set up.
One specializes in inert ordnance, original ship, tank, and airplane recognition models, and orders and decorations. The other collector focuses on uniform and medal groupings and the history behind each soldier.
I really like the ships gunnery target kites. I will let the pictures tell the rest! Pat

I wish I had his 175mm Powder can. He seems to have a lot of water practice bombs labeled as real.

The 175mm gun was phased out right after Vietnam. It had a very short barrel life due to the velocity and powder temperatures. I never have even seen one of the cans. I tried searching Google with no luck. I can't find a model number for the can to do a search. So, yes they are kind of rare now.
