Help with ID on an Ordnance Container

Hello! New member here. New to collecting ordnance but not a new collector. Just wondering if someone can ID this tube for me. I'm still trying to learn the finer points of ordnance collecting so any help will do. The dimensions of the tube are:

23" long
22 5/16" breadth
7 1/8 wide
6 1/4 inside diameter

Thanks again for any help.

What it is actually for, I don't know.

However, it appears to have been made by the Aluminium Company of Canada, Shawinigan AC/C. Became Alcan, now Rio Tinto Alcan. Somewhat odd in so much as they are Aluminium manufacturers and there were/are papers manufacturers also in Shawinigan, more suited to the manufacture of such items.
