Home made tails

Hear is a reasonable attempt at re constructing pre 1940 50 kg tailfins
faithfull to the originals or as near as:tinysmile_shy_t:.

No flutes were added or the holes for the pipes but i do need to
practise the spotwelds and get the cone to fit nice and snug on the bomb.

If this is up to your usual restoration standard bud, they will be excellent.

Well done.

Andy

By the way, the BX is still running and ive a doner motor as spares now.

Hi Andy
Long live the BX and all its relations:tinysmile_shy_t:
The tails are nearly perfected which i may attempt the 250 kg fins next
project Capri has ground to a halt at the mo and just waiting to get a new wave of enthusiasm.

Excellent job as usual Phil !! Can't wait to see them fitted to the body!!

regards Kev

Thanks Kev

These are aimed at the BLC50a which is progressing (sort off )

but will have some more progress this weekend.

Colours are as you suggested via pawlas book, which is Ally body with dark grey tails and black stenciling which will look the nats.

I understand that Phil, i did a 1956 Moggie years ago and that went in fits and starts, especially in the winter, no fun lying on cold concrete late at night scraping and bashing. In the end it was done when i really needed to have a go. However, ime sure you will get it done and to perfection too.
Old BX is off to Cornwall again, 2nd time in 3 weeks on Thursday, fingers crossed for a 17 year old motor.

Year no worries Andy, with our old Bx all it ever wanted was front spheres
and a head gasket :tinysmile_fatgrin_tand that was 190,000 under its belt.

I am so near with finishing the shell on old cappa but ive just blown cold with it,even though i now have all the finishing bits and the Engine is now unleaded stripped rebuilt ported and vented head and detailed.

It Will Be Done.
