id on large shell case

hi guys picked this up the other day hopefully someone can help with identification its 33 and 1/2 inch tall and across the top is 5 and 3/4 on the base is stamped 102 12 AND 15 in circles and K 453 88 21 ive put a 30 mm afv shell for some scale

That's a big shell Lee!
Not my specialised area but isn't it a Soviet M46 (130mm) artillery shell (or whatever other country bought it?).
Could be way off with this - leave it to the experts.

Nice find!

I think SG500 is on the money with this one, see attached picture taken long ago, case is upside down and next but one to it is a 120 MM Conquerer Tank case for scale.

Primer pocket looks very Russian in size and shape IMO.

Have just found the picture of my old 100 MM Tank Case from Russia-note the similarities in the headstamp.

Primer fitting

yes it certenley looks simmiler to the one in your picture chris

Penny to a pound that the Russian Primer will fit yours and the headstamps are pretty similar too.
Next time we meet I will bring the primer with me if i can get it out of the case (its in a 57mm PLK case at present).
