Would anyone know what this illum/signal round is? Found on a US range. Cargo body has all of the I/D features of a US rifle grenade and slap flare bodies, including the internal off set pyro delay flash hole but with a thicker wall. The combustion chamber is of the WWI German Minenwerfer/Japanese Ni Mortar style and the diameter is 1.60" (40.73mm), length .8345" (21.2mm). Cargo body length is 5.1015" (129.59mm). OAL is 5.9365" (129.79mm). Body ID is 1.4925" (37.91mm), wall thickness .06" (1.52mm). The primer is a Winchester "protected" primer and is marked W.R.A.CO NEW No4. Ideas, comments? Cheers, Y'all, Bruce.

Hi Bruce,

Looks like it might be one of these projector type ground signals, fired tail first.

Hello,

Does anyone know the real nomenclature ?
Signal ground star M17 to M22 have no flash hole on the single diagram I have.
Could it be a smoke version instead of illuminating ?

Regards
