Hi Waff
The early PzKpfw IV and Stug III were fitted with the short barelled 7.5cm KwK and 7.5cm Stuk respectively. They were intended for infantry support.

There is one slight problem. The HE projectile for these guns was the 7.5cm Gr. Patr. with the Kl AZ 23 fuse.
The projectile you have is looks like a K.Gr. with a bigger fuse pocket for the 7.5cm F K 16 nA and F K 18 field artillery gun.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news :sad:.

Hi SG,
No worries at all my friend. :)
It looks complete so thats good enough for me until the right one comes along.
Do you have any pictures of the different projectiles involved please?

cheers

I'm not 100% sure what your projectile is but I will look around over the next day or so. In the meantime if anyone else can help Waff please do.

The easy way to tell is the paint markings. Variations of red and yellow bands but obviously that can't be used for your projectile.

Thank you Gents for your info. :)

According to I.V.Hoggs book,it says to use a C12 primer. Was there indeed an electric C12?

cheers

Hello Waff, it looks that you have the projectile for the FK 16 and FK 18, i will get you a projectile for the KWK 38 at Stoneleigh, i have also found the KWK 38 with original box with projectiles with a steel drivingband, everybody is now saying thats not possibel, but i was at the EOD when they found the box with the labels and the items were inside. Nice one Ben.:tinysmile_kiss_t4: That would be very much appreciated.
I should have a big order list for you by January! ;)

Hi Ben
Very nice find on the KwK38 box. If the EOD found it does that mean it was destroyed?
Why do they say the steal driveband is not possible?

If you are taking orders I would love a projectile for my KwK 6354 case too......please.

For Waff
It is the C/22 primer you need.

Waff,
From a quick browse around my docs...I'd say it was the FK18 (Don't have info on the FK 16)

Here are a few pics of my Kwk38 with K.Gr.rot pz...nice find on the case btw, almost always the hardest bit to find for a German round.....the vehicle is the Stug III that Stielgr was refering to.

I will find a C22 primer somewhere in the room!

Rightyho Q,Im never sure what some of these figures mean sometimes.Mebbe its best i stick to the bloody fuzes eh? lol
If it is indeed 200,then this case goes with that proj i have?
Keep it simple for old waffy please!

W

Its pretty easy Waff, The cartridge (case) designation is given as the calibre followed by case length and then the Rim type.

So your 7.5cm FK16nA is 75x200R = calibre 75mm, case length 200mm with a rimmed base.

R = Rimmed
SR = Semi-rimmed
RB = Rebated
B = Belted
If no letter is shown its a rimmless cartridge.
