I picked this up a little while back, it is a WWI German 18cm Ggr. M. Glatte projectile. Normally filled with phosgene or a phosgene/chloropicrin mix, it is also referenced as being filled with arsine pellets mixed with explosive. A smoothbore projectile primarily used early in the war, it was the German answer to the Livens projector.

Great shell USsubs, I do so love the bigger WWI german shells (don't have one as they're rarely dug in the US) but that bugger would look good in my trench, and nice write-up with it...Regards ..Dano
