Hi Could anybody tell me what is the correct ring that was used on the No36 as i seem to have two sorts one like the No5s split ring and the other like the ones used on the early L series grenade is this right?
Cheers
Andy

Split ring yes L series ring no. You could also use a brased ring which was typical for ww2. These are solid steel rings braised at the joint to form a solid ring.

The L style ring was used for a short period on the no 5s, but scrapped as they got caught up on each other when in a bombers bag

Thanks i never new that you learn something new every day, do you know the diameter of the ring as i might have a go at making some.
Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy,

they will be the same size as a No 5, you could copy one of those.
