Hi all,
here my cutaway I finished today.
It is the MK 177 Mod. 0 nose fuze, used for depth charges of the 7,2 inch shipboard launcher (Navy).
The fuze is partially armed upon impact on the water surface; further water travelling will rotate the vane assembly, thus disengaging the spindle from the brass safety block.
The firing pin can rise upwards, and the detonator holder can move in the armed position.
Upon impact with the target (submarine etc.) the brass block moves out of the central position, releasing the locking balls and the spring loaded firing pin is able to activate the detonator assembly and the booster charge of the fuze.
Enjoy
