Hello! pics of 2 RPG40 grenades found for the collection. The brownish one is an interesting color and appears to be original paint. Any thoughts? Is the "4" a date code, or is it a factory number?? I have never seen this color before, is it common? Does anyone know?? The other is semi relic, but is complete, and still vey nice looking I think, even with it's issues.

Does anybody have pics of their examples??

Regards, Steve

Hello,
guess the stamped 4 is a lotnumber or something else than the manufacturer.
Have this example of a manufacturers embossing on a RPG 40 - the other one is a crudely made sectioned model.

Hello Mt-LB!! very nice. Is the grey one the cut out? I like the way it was done, not really too crude. Is that an original color of grey that it was re-painted, or is it by chance the original grey paint? I have an orig. WPG /RG42V that is grey, with a brown stripe at top.

Have you been able to find out what the markings on yours are? I am pretty sure it is the factory symbols/ logo. Would be nice to have an accurate list of the Soviet WW2 grenade makers/contractors/factories, and there symbols.
