I need to acquire very basic knowledge of modern aerial ordnance (bombs and air-launched missiles). Right now I know close to nil. Hopefully something short and simple. Everything I see on YouTube is good but very specialised. Thank you.
There are a number of books on Aircraft Ordnance. Janes's is probably the best. Curl up with a copy of Jane's Aircraft Ordnance for about a week. Most of the military videos are geared toward a 16 year-old.
My USAF daughter talks to me about this stuff thinking that I have shotshells and must know all those laser guided things (which is not true at all). So I'd like to be able to stand my ground, a bit.
I made a few detailled postings about the sidewinder and the GBU-12. Explained in such a way that -hopefully- everybody can understand it. Why not start there?
