Had a couple of boxes waiting for me when I got back this weekend, some pieces from NE Italy. Its taken me some time to get them here, but now that they've arrived I'm fairly pleased. The three Italian ones on the bottom row I've ID'd easily, and of course the 2.36 WP warhead is a freebie. The others are proving more elusive - noting where I got them I suspect Austrian?

The fourth one (L-R) on the top (very gunked up) and the heavy frag on the bottom row each have the same reverse-thread fuze. I thought I'd seen the top one before, but haven't found it yet in my references.

:tinysmile_grin_t:
these are really nice
you gonna do anything with them or leave em as they are?

regards
doug.

Clean 'em, oil 'em, put them on the shelf.

Hi Jo, on top row 2nd from left is the head to Austrian 1916 Rohr cardboard handled stick grenade, 3rd from left Austrian WW1 lakos barbed wire grenade and these are found in differend lengths, and 4th from left there is one for sale on specialist and they call it an Austrian WW1 Schwerhand grenade though i'm familiar with a slightly different shape to the Schwer? Couple of Italian Beniglia rodded rifle grenades on bottom...Dano

Thanks for the assist guys, any ideas on the unknown frag on the second row? With the same fuze as the now identified Schwerhandgranate, I would guess Austrian as well, but my data on early Austrian grenades is pretty thing - JO

The small gren has the grand name of Zeitzunderleichthandgranate.
heres some info on it (if you can read Italian) The large one is the Schwerhandgranate which is a common name for quite a few different shaped Austrian frags.:tinysmile_grin_t:
cheers, Paul.
