Got this today, a rubber No 5 Mills gren in very good condition. A slight bit of damage on the base plug area but this is minimal.
A really good addition to my collection, its rubber coated metal, probably lead, no cracking or perishing of the rubber. Well pleased.

Looks like very nice condition Andy, is it black ? the one I have is a dark brown colour and well worn with a couple of splits in the rubber.

Its a very dark brown i think, polished it so it looks black. Gave it a wash and did look brown.

Excuse my ignorance, what were these for? Throwing practice?

Yes bud,

thats what they were for and over the years they tend to perish or become brittle, especially if left in sunlight so well pleased to get a good one.
