Won this no74 mk2 handle on auction last week ,apart from been rusted its in fairly good condition, ive started to clean it up the fly off lever may have to be replaced as that is pretty thin under the rust,I also found some etched ? markings under the crud ,O.E.C 43 and MD1,,
I know who MD1 are but who or what is O.E.C ?

Nice find Spotter, just need the rest of it now, am i right in thinking it's the handle for a sticky bomb ?
Best regards Weasel.

yes thats correct weasel no74 also known as the "sticky bomb",,i was suprised to get this as the mk2 is a very rare item, may have a go sometime at making a replica head for it

That lever could be rescued. Have you thought of alkaline electroysis to clean it?

John

Hello, I need a lever for a #74 Mk1. Does anyone know of a good original for sale or where a reproduction lever could be found? THANKS! Pat

Hi Alan, nice handle. Try the famous Hammerite rust dip from Halfords. It should get rid of all that crud with little effort and won't damage the plastic.
Dave.

Thanks for all the input on this lever,I removed the lever and used the hammerite de ruster, but its too far coroded,
The good news is ,its getting re-homed with Roller63 to complete a no74 mk2 he has minus the handle
