I found out about this on the internet recently, I find this sort of thing really interesting.

Numbers stations are high powered radio stations which are probably used to broadcast coded messages to spies.

Two of the most well known are the Russian UVB-76 (located just outside Moscow) and the "Lincolnshire Poacher". Which was apparently located at RAF Akrotiri.

I found this recording on youtube of what is allegedly a rare coded message from UVB-76. If one of our Russian members could translate it, that would be great.

There was also the Soviet DUGA-3 Over-The-Horizon anti missile radar AKA the woodpecker which caused disruption to radio reception.

Feel free to add comments about military radios or espionage. I thought this could start an interesting discussion.

Maybe this didn't get noticed the first time.

It would be great if a Russian speaking member could translate the message in the link.
