I have this fuze down as Italian, although I am not sure if that, or the nomenclature is right.

The markings on the end of the nose are interesting as well ... does anyone know what they mean?

Any ideas?

Yes Joe,
it is Italian Spoletta a D.E. mod 36.
PTT and percusion detonating fuze.
There was also a T mod 36 fuze (igniting type).
The markings on top is the manufacturer and lot.

thank you for consideration.

As Bob says a time and percussion italian fuze model of 1936. Used from 75mm up to 149mm for air burst.

Mod 36 T (time) is same fuze without the percussion mechanism.

STA means Spolettificio Torre Annunziata (Naples) state arsenal who manufactured the fuze, SS are the initials of the inspector. 2-40= 2n semexter of 1940, partita n.2 it's the lot n.2
