Here are a couple of pictures of the PG-9 and OG-9 in the wild for comparison. The OG-9 has a much wider boom, with perforations. Mounted on the back of the projectiles(?) are the launch canisters which contain the propellant, and provide the gas seal in the chamber of the launcher which is usually encountered on the BMP-1 APC.

No. This is the PG-9 HEAT round, witch is rocket assisted. Red color indicates a drill round. The others above were the OG-9 HE-FRAG rounds without rocket motor..
To make things a bit more complicated there is a PG-9 and the PG-15, diference is how they are fired. The PG-9 is fired from the recoiles rifle SPG-9 and uses a tailboom with the propelant around it. The PG-15 is fired from the BMP-1 tank and uses a cartridge case. Both uses the same projectile the PG-9, same goes for the OG-9 and OG-15. First pic the diference between the PG-9 (right) and the PG-15, second pic the OG-9.

Less complicated rather than lots of confusion (or no info/lack of docs and russian language) when it comes to separated Russian ammunition and it's designation system.
73mm SPG-9 (recoilless) ammunition:
Round:
PG-9V (HEAT)= consists of PG-9 projectile and PG-9P propelling charge
OG-9V (HE-Frag)= consists of OG-9 projectile and OG-9P propelling charge
73mm 2A28 (vehicle gun) ammunition:
Round:
PG-15V (HEAT)= consists of PG-9 projectile and PG-15P propelling charge
OG-15V (HE-Frag)= consists of OG-9 projectile and OG-15P propelling charge
People often tend to confuse round and projectile designators and think one designation goes for all.
And as said before the HE-Frag is no rocket.

blu97, to me it is a bore launched rocket since the rocket motor there is way too large to be "assisting" only and the external propelling charge (or better an expelling charge) is making up for the smaller part of the trajectory.

It is a lot more obvious when you see one in person. Besides the tail boom/motor section, while the PG-9 is typical of other PGs in construction - lightweight stamped sheet metal body - the OG has a heavy steel body, say similar to a 57mm recoiless or heavier.
