Please Help WW2 German case identification

Manufactured by Vickers Sons and Maxim, ballpark 1900ish.

Vickers, Sons & Co had merged with the Maxim Nordenfelt Gun & Ammunition Co in 1896 to form Vickers, Sons & Maxim. So your case manufactured from 1896 forward.

It seems to be a Gruson gun case used by many countries including Romania and Germany. Must be a UK contract case.
