It’s the first type of cover used on No. 80 alloy fuzes c. 1905. It used a tear-off strip, but this was soldered to the fuze socket adapter
 

Early type No. 80 fuze cover?

These photos show the early type fuze covers for the No. 80 Mks I, II, III & IIIA aluminium fuzes. I’m not sure how they were attached to the fuze or enclosed the fuze to keep it sealed. Maybe the cover was soldered to a cup washer that went over the fuze thread, or perhaps the fuze was fully...

Unknown British 1905 fuze cap/cover?

I picked up this brass fuze cover on the weekend. It's marked: II C.L. Co. Ld. 1905 /l\ B With the broad arrow it must surely be British, and it has a screw thread like later naval fuze covers. The only fuze of this dome shape I can find for the era is the No. 80 Mk I, but it wouldn't have...
