It depends on year on case and shell, it is a right case, but you have to chech years. Im not an expert, but have few of these.

Hi Caracal,
That is a beautiful projectile, great to see so much original paint and markings, i would also agree with grenademan that the case shown would be ok for this round, but i think that Gspragge would be able to give you a more definitive answer.
Best regards Weasel.

Thanks, but it is not mine yet. I'm negociating it right now. I will post pictures to show it's empty as soon as i get them.

Best regards

Good luck, i would really like that in my collection as well.

I have the green version of that. It is repainted green over yellow. Inside the case you can find the yellow paint uncovered. That yellow one is the early colour and is very nice and rare, ask if has more of them... :nerd:

Howdy,

The cart. case you have seems to be French manufacture dated 1975.

It is the right type of cart. (M16) for the M63 projectile, but to be politically correct you could check the date & manufacturer (US or French) of the proj. & match it to a similar manufacturer & date cart.

Good luck,

Ozzi.

Hi Ozziammo, Well spotted, i noticed the headstamp was one that i did not know, thanks for filling in the info. If thats the case then there are quite a few WW2 US cases out there so should not be to difficult to find one.
Best Weasel.

Hi

yes i didn't know this headstamp, there is no full date on it, that's why i asked about it.

thanks a lot, i will try to find an other

i thought you talked about WW2 years, i was not thinking it was a modern case :tinysmile_cry_t2:

No problem. Think that Im interested in French rounds, always WWII, so if you find something send me a PM. :tinysmile_twink_t2:

i have read on an other topic on BOCN that the yellow paint was until 1943, then the projectile was green.

My question is: was it yellow until 1943 included? or the last yellow paint production was 1942?

I ask that because i am looking for the correct dated case

regards

Until 1942, like the US grenades. Mine is yellow under green and it is dated 1942. Anyway you have to check the year marked on the copper band for see what case you need. Forget paint, you have to see the year on the shell.

You were very correct, I was being more detailed with my reply!

Keep em coming.
