Went up on Salisbury plain on Sunday with Uncle Rickoshea. Had a walk around some of the ww2 training areas. Then after a pint or two of the local ale. We crossed the middle of the plain from south to north. This area is definitely out of bounds unlike a lot of the plain which if the flags are down are open access(Ok if you stay on the road)The first pic shows some distant tank targets. Luckily you cant see them in detail as you would cry, humber pigs, centurions, shermans, cromwells, unfortunately these are all in the main impact area so decent pics are not possible. The second pic shows recovered airdropped practice bombs, these are at a few range control posts around the danger area. The weather was amazing and we met some nice people on the way!Cheers Dave.:tinysmile_fatgrin_tTony.

Great to see those pictures, i grew up on Salisbury plain and as kids we use to climb all over those tanks totally unaware of the dangers. The landwardens spent most weekends chasing us away.:xd:
I remember looking at the holes in the tanks and wondering how something could put a hole through 5 inches of steel.
