This was the set of locking rings we spoke about a while ago were the
inner ring has not got or ever had the little stud attached to align the fuse

I have a lovely repro set that are correct for the casing which will be introduced soon. well spotted there steve

Hi Phil
Thats strange yes i remember our chat , it must have broken off as there is no way to be able to lock the fuze in place properly , was there no trace of having been on there , the bomb case would show the hole for the stud ?

Impressive work so far Phil.

Sandblasted or bloody good rub down?

cheers
waff

Thanks mate

Into the blast chamber she went and it had to have some filler as this was
exhumed bye the RE some years ago still retaining its original fuse
all drilled full of holes Elaz 55 1940 and shot to bits oh and filled with resin
by the army and used as a door stop But not any more.havnt they heard of wedges

Hi Steve
Yes the bomb case does have the hole for the inner ring to locate,
but there is absolutely no trace of the stud on the ring, and i have
machined an amount untracable of the ring to show up any ghosting
of a hole for the stud.
This will show up as a hairline circle even in the rusty cases evidence would be there.
i will send you some close ups via em.
