Solid Brass Mills 36. Could this be a Drill Round ? Any ideas ?

Found this solid brass Mills 36 grenade today. Has the letters E F stamped on it. Similar to two other ferrous genades that I have. there is also a C stamped on the body.

I believe this to be of South African origin.

Could this have been made as a Drill grenade ?

Windows 8 sucks!!!! Have finally gotten comfortable with the pic section there. Would go to Windows 10 but the privacy thing concerns me.

I had one of these a few years ago. It was very heavy and I came to the conclusion it have been made in a grenade factory as a leaving present or presentation item. I have also seen one with a lighter poking out of the top.
