Special weekend at LIBERTY PARK Overloon Holland

Today is rainning here too, so no problem. I like the MiddleEurope weather, and I hate the Spanish sun in summer when we arrive to 35C, 37C. You cant do nothing.

Hello again:
Now Im posting pics of a small collection of ordnance you can find in the museum, it is a small collection because owner is starting to collect, but we can give him time for get more items as the collection is small now.... :xd:

There are a few more cabinets with German handgrenades, riflegrenades, metal boxes, flares and more items, but I leave this for the visitor. It is one of the nicests museums I ever have visited, and I have visited all museums at Normandy, Belgium Ardennes, Pas De Calais and this year Holland Market Garden Op. It is a very modern museum with a lot of nice features, (like the one you seat inside an USA bomber and with a display at the floor you can see how the tracers are searching you, etc), big like a hell, you can get lost inside, and for recover energy you can take a nice and cheap meal at the restaurant. And no, I havent commission from the museum.

To both Ben and Miguel thank you for taking the time and posting all these excellent pictures. It sure looks like you had a good time Miguel.
I will have to do the operation Market Garden sites in a year or so and take a small detour to see this small collection.

I am curious about one of the displays.
It is in picture IMG_2165 post #25
In the middle bottom of the picture there are two 3.7cm Pak cases fitted with HK H-Pzgr projectiles.
Does anyone have any information from manuals or documents about the use of this projectile with the Pak gun?

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
PC

Man, I have no idea about this. Maybe owner of the collection or other members could help you. I remember in this forum or in another a thread about these shells for Flak training of something like this, but Im not sure.

Hello PC, about the projectiles you see on the picture, the drivingbands are the same as the PAK projectiles, the Flak (BK) has a complete different driving band, the crimp for the case is the same as for the PAK, also if we would say that the projectiles are for the flak(BK) these projectiles are practice projectiles, it would be not realistic to make 2 different HK for the Flak,(BK), they had already one model, i think they made these projectiles for experimental/ practice use. the shape of the projectile is almost the same as the projectiles for the 5 cm PAK ( 5 cm Pzgr 40/1) i think they stopped with the 37 mm because the armor of the tanks and vehicles was getting to strong. Hello Ben
Thank you for the reply.

That is extremely interesting to learn about the different drive bands on the Pak and Flak HK projectiles. This has never been explained to me before and I was always confuse about the issue.

Have you a technical drawing or a good diagram of the Pak HK?

PC
