Hi to All,

Is it just me but everytime i try to bring up SA all I get is "Server not found" is anyone else having the same problem. All the Best.
Richard

Hello Richard,

I use this site a lot. It frequently does this and like most people we all add our most used sites to our "favorites" and access via this. If you type in Specialist Auctions again but via a web browser as though you were seeking the site for the first time it usually works. Then save the site as favorites again and delete your original saved site. For some reason this clears any blockage or broken connection. Sorry for the non technical terms am not a comp tech. Rgds Barry

Hi Barry,

Tried that but still no joy, even got Daughter to try on her machine with no joy came up with the same problem. Thanks for the tip. All the Best.
Richard

Hi Gents
I have the same problem & I have tried all the listed tips & a few others!!
No joy at all.
SA has (to me) always been a bit slow/painfull at times so possibly it has overloaded or they are upgrading it?

The site is down at the moment (intermittently) and the cause is being looked into. There are moves afoot to improve the level of operation generally as it can be slow so you should see improvement in due course.

It works fine for me, however I've had a bad run in on my first purchase and can't contact the seller, what should I do?

Still no joy for me.
Rodog95 - Depends in what respect you have had a `bad run in`!?
Try going through the moderators - but don`t hold your breath! If you paid with paypal then go through their dispute procedure, but DO NOT mention ordnance or anything along those lines.
If you still get no where then you could name & shame here - at the very least it will protect/warn others but someone may know someone etc & get in touch.
Bit too much of people getting messed about through SA & Ebay & without the sites seeming to want to help.

Well, I bought something the weekend before last, and it still hasn't arrived, the seller has listed that I haven't paid when Paypal clearly states I have, and I have contacted the Moderators and the site itself and had no response.

Go through the paypal dispute thing first - just make sure you had correct PP address etc & file a dispute - this should put the funds on hold & PP will contact seller

Hi Rordog,
couple of things worth checking out first, did you pay via the pay-pal link on SA? if so it would show as being paid automatically on your SA account and also in the sellers SA account.
Check your pay-pal account payment details, does it show 'completed' or 'unclaimed'? if unclaimed it is a typo error of the sellers e-mail address, which you can correct by cancelling the payment and type in the correct e-mail address and send payment.
Just a couple of ideas as I have been 'snagged' by them in the past

Hi Tony,

I paid through the link on SA, and on my Paypal its says completed, I've also sent two messages to the bloke and had no response and also two to the Moderators and one to site with no response, I'll dispute it tomorrow.

Cheers
Rory

I had a problem with a purchase from SA and after not being able to resolve the problem with the vendor I tried several times to contact the Moderators and never got a response.

I have not used SA since. I was not impressed.

Good luck Rory,
no, SA are rubbish at sorting things out and it is a shame as most of us on there are well behaved decent chaps/chapesess,and I do know how you and glevum feel about your first experiences on there, there are a couple of us on here who have experienced the same thing but at the other end with non paying customers!

Still a means to a end!

Tony

Take care guys if you have bought ordnance using paypal on SA. If you advise them that you have you risk having
both your paypal and eBay a/c closed as they have decided that if its against their rules on eBay then it applies on all Auction sites. Beware.
