You lucky person Spotter being allowed to walk all over the place taking photos, perk of the job??
What are all those smoke grenades doing there - why have some of them got their levers in place? Or are they placed in the target and then go off when something hits the target?
Those grenades are all expended .the lever on this type remains attatched by a wire staple to the grenade ,could be there for many reasons, thrown in to simulate tank burning,or just something simple like tidying up around the target after an exercise
its definately a cent or whats left of it probably a mk5 with the fume extractor on the barrel circa late 1950's early 1960's i think but it is hard to tell with so much damage.
