One of the top anti-war movies, very well made, very proper, very English http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1441953/. WWI, England. Actually, the movie starts before the Great War. It starts a bit slow as a upper middle class life with some romance, but it gets very good and interesting soon after. My grandmother and her 2 sisters were all White Army nurses during the Russian Civil War (the anti-Progressive side). Must have been horrible also, medical was a non-combat role, but scarred one's psyche heavily too.
