The Belgian grenade is the M73 DRILL (not practice).
Your drill body has the incorrect (and most likely cut-down) M73A1 practice fuze instead the drill fuze

The practice version looks the same, except the diameter of the hole is larger to accept the M73A1 fuze and charge.

Hi oprh.

I see your point, its a drill gren. But Ive never seen a M73 drill fuze? All the drill and practice M73 ive seen have the same M73a1 fuze.

Hi Natocollector,

I can see your point.

In the early days of the M72 grenade, we used the M50 Drill fuze on the M73 drill body.
This fuze was clearly 'diffrent' than the practice one.
Later on, they made a drill fuze with the same body as the M73 prac, but with unmarked lever.

The drill fuze is made of a body (alu or plastic) and a 'detonator' looking aluminum tube, containing a spring and a plunger that ejects the lever on the drill fuzes.
