I would know this as one of the Haley & Weller 'E Series' grenades, of which there must have been a dozen different payloads.. They use the same electrical silent ignition system:
The 'flip-up' lever,remains attached to the grenade after functioning. The fuze will function once the lever has rotated about 30 degrees. Functioning occurs after a plunger in the head of the grenade closes a two-pole switch mechanism which, in turn, causes a pulse of current to be applied to a fuze head. It is fitted with Rad-Haz circuitry.
