Thompson ammunition crates/boces and ammo packages used by British

Did the British made a wooden crate for the .45 ammo used for the Thompson Submachine guns or did they just use US crates ?

How did these crates look like (any info about sizes, photo's and/or drawings will be more then welcome)

Was the ammo packed in small packages inside the crate and if so, how did these packages look like (sizes, photo's will be most welcome)

Hi Pietje,
The British used H29 (modified) boxes which held either 1200 rounds or 1560 Rounds depending on how they were packaged. The boxes had a wooden diamond on each end. There was also an H29 (modified) which held 1596 rounds of American made Ammo. Will see if I can find a picture of an H29.
