Gents Discuss,
In times of war needs must this munition with other numerous tpes was shipped to Japan in exchange for rare materials ( Tin / Rubber) during WW2, it first arrived in the guise of the Greman rifle grenade "Sheissbecher" this became the Jap 40mm HEAT rifle grenade, which with a few cheap be effective mods the became the Type 2, 3Kg air dropped Cluster Bomblet, mainly used to target heavy Bombers & Aircraft Carrier. I've attached 4 images 1/ shows the bomblet less tail unit, which is the rifle grenade with the rifled section removed. 2 This is a tin & Ali tail unit 3 this is the firing mech that fitted into the tail note that no spring is involved, it all worked on Inertia, even the rice paper packing note with marking is included & 4 is the complete bomblet. Clever these Japanese, if any one can add to this please do so
