Hi

The Canadian War Museum has this fuze marked PDF Mk IX - probably US. Can anyone confirm this and tell me more about it? Possibly WW1 or later.

Thanks

Doug

Hi Doug,

I believe you have a British no 103 fuze dating from around 1917. The early marks were made of brass but the later ones were steel. Your one looks like it has been coppered - have you tried a magnet on it?

Hi

Off-line discussion proved it was a British-designed US Coast defence fuse PDF Mk IX. Probably explains the British connection.

Thanks.
