On the first view I thought that is a 2.36 inch practice rocket. But the tail fins look a little bit strange. I have never seen such rocket head total paint in red color. Here are some measurements: length - 415 mm, diameter head - 59 mm. Length head - 218 mm, diameter tail unit - 63 mm. Can everyone identify this rocket?

Nothing has changed on mine since my original post, it remains unidentified and is believed an experimental item from the 50s-60s. I would emphasize that on my example at least, it has no venturies (nozzles) or motor and is not a rocket.
It's an experimental U.S. rifle grenade from the 1950s. I found information on it, including manufacturing line drawings, in the National Archives about 35 years ago. Unfortunately, if I saved any copies or data, they're missing in action. I looked again during subsequent visits but never found the files again.
