Unknown brass plug

Hello,

it would be nice to know what this brass plug was used for. With 31,5 mm diameter and 14 t.p.i. the thread size it is slightly larger than the thread of a bristish No. I artillery primer. Country of usage is unknown but it must be releated to WW1 ordnance.

It comes from a place where ammunition was dismantled, several were found. So I don't think so.
